I am happy to join Wanda Lee and Pam for a Gingerbread Tea. I thought I would have my little gingerbread tea with some childhood memories.
I can remember Christmas being a magical time. I remember playing with the nativity. My favorite was the baby Jesus. I took special care of him and wrapped him up safely when we put him away for next year. Did you ever gallop a sheep or coddle the baby Jesus? I found the little lamb thrifting for $2.00.
Did you bake cookies? I remember just learning to cook and I couldn't wait to make Christmas cookies each year. I made sugar cookies, chocolate chip, and gingerbread too.
I made this paper soldier's hat from newspaper when I was 14. I got the directions from a Colonial Willamsburg book about Christmas decorating.
What fun memories do you have of Christmas? Tell what your favorite memory was.
