Home Sweet Home #115

Hello and welcome to Home Sweet Home!  This week I took a picture of A Little Vignette I had in my kitchen window to share with you.

I re-posted A Mother's Tea from two years ago.

I went about town this week and took some pictures in Spring Blossoms.

I introduced a new sponsor Wholeport.com online craft supplier.  They are now sponsoring a Craft Party Thursday giveaway.  Where you can take any craft supply you purchase from Wholeport and create a craft and enter to win $30 of craft supplies in Craft Party Thursday.
There supplies are of nice quality and very reasonably priced.  Check them out.

I would like to highlight another sponsor.  Vision Blinds is a family business that has been operating in the UK for over 100 years.  They supply the finest quality window blinds, awnings, and conservatory blinds.  They also have a line of  Perfect Fit blinds by Louvolite® and cane furniture.  Visit this sponsor to take care of your window fashion needs.

Now, I would like to feature some of the great blogger's post that caught my eye from last week's Home Sweet Home.

Lani of Simply Fresh Vintage shared some Vintage Tablecloth Love.  So many inspiring ways to sew up vintage tablecloths!

Manuela at A Cultivated Nest showed several ways to decorate a tin can.

Anjana from At the Corner of Happy and Harried shared this recipe for Vegetable Stew with Coconut Milk.  If you haven't given coconut a try yet you should try it.  I have been on a diet that is anti-inflammatory for allergies and it works for many illnesses (almost all modern illness is based in the immune system and is from inflammation in your body).  Coconut is my favorite thing in the world right now.  It is healthy and it is good for you.  I had to share this simple stew recipe, a winner with a coconut milk base.

So many great post each week and so many talented people!   It is really hard to feature a few! And, remember to be featured you must have a link back to the Home Sweet Home party.   Thank you to everyone who joins me at Home Sweet Home!  It is wonderful to have you here!

Spring Blossoms

Spring could easily be a time for fairies.  Everything has exploded in blooms.  Even the grass; which would normally not be magical, looks as if the fairies have been tending garden here.

Here is my town's most famous resident, the albino grey squirrel. He comes down from a tree to investigate what sort of magic has been at play.

This is one of my favorite spring flowering shrubs the flowering quince.

So many beautiful blossoms all blooming at once due to the long winter.  Has spring's magic been at work in your neighborhood?

A Little Vignette

I have this little vignette in  my kitchen window ledge.  The light there is bad so I moved this to the good window for some pictures.  The tulips are too big for the vase but, I love the look of this little vase.

I found this vase at the thrift store for 50 cents.  It is a Laura Ashley product it still had the sticker on it.  On closer inspection I believe it is a toothbrush holder.   Ha!

I really didn't care I have always loved Laura Ashley home decor.
What has been your recent thrifty find?

Home Sweet Home #114

Hello and welcome to Home Sweet Home!  This week I styled a lovely creamer full of spring blossoms in Blue & White Spring.

I then discussed what book I should read to my youngest this summer in Summer Reading with Boys.

I then made a Sweet Potato Pie with a tropical twist.

I would like to highlight a sponsor.  Phoenix Carpet & Flooring a family run business with 30 years experience within the industry, serving Bristol, Gloucester and Bath, England.  They have teams of fitters that are highly qualified in all aspects of floor laying which allows them to offer a diverse range of stylish and affordable floor coverings for domestic and commercial use.  Visit this sponsor if you are in that area to take care of your flooring needs.

Now, I would like to feature some of the great blogger's post that caught my eye from last week's Home Sweet Home.

Diane at An Extraordinary Day created these book page spring blossoming flowers.  So very cute!

The Decorating Diaries created a Antique Sheet Music/Chalkboard Folding Screen.

Trudy at Looks Like White showed us a Swedish and French home that was divine!

Julie at Tattered Tiques showed us how she created a terrarium that was so sweet.

So many great post each week and so many talented people!   It is really hard to feature a few!  Thank you to everyone who joins me at Home Sweet Home!  It is wonderful to have you here!

Blue & White Spring

I was in the mood for a pretty picture.  So, I pulled out some blue and white and paired it with my spring blooms!  I finally have beautiful weather here and flowers blooming everywhere.

I was out of the house most of the weekend enjoying the pretty weather.  Hope you are having a beautiful spring!

Children's Easter Table

Every Easter that I can remember we have been so fortunate to have so much family gather for Easter that there is always several tables set for the meal.  I thought it would be great fun today to celebrate Easter by showing you a children's table set for the Easter meal.

I love the flirty polka dot fabric that's hue is perfect for Easter.

There is a pint sized bouquet of flowers that looks as if a child has picked it just for the table.

What would Easter be without a bunny hopping up on the table.

Mr. Rabbit is oh so curious about what lies behind the garden fence.  It is a vintage ceramic egg not the lettuce he was hoping for.

The little bunnies on the dessert plates have the best view of all.

Dinner plates are Pfaltzgraff.
Salad plates are from TJ Maxx.
Dessert plates are from Avon.

For little hands we are using thrift store sherbets. Children can feel all grown up with the fancy glassware and you won't care if they get broken.  The innocent eyelet napkins homemade.

Someone brought their Easter basket to the table too excited to part with it.  Thank you for having fun at the children's Easter table.

This is a re-post from 2010.  I always loved this table and it never had many views 3 years ago so I decided to re-post it.  I knew St. Patrick's Day, Spring, and Easter were all going to sneak up on me so re-posting is a good thing!
