Silver Sunday

I had a few things I thought I would add to Silver Sunday.

I picked this piece up at the thrift store for $4.  It isn't anything valuable but, I thought it would make a great low vase.  My 5 year-old thinks it's the Tri-Wizard Tournament cup.

Sometimes you find things you forgot you had.  I got a picnic basket out last week and found these forks in it.  They were a flea market purchase from 20 years ago.   I also have this pastry cutter from my grandmother.

I also recently found this little silver box I forgot I had.  It was made in England and depicts a hunting scene.

I found these also in my jewelry collection.  I should have added this to Shop the House Sunday, because I forgot I had all of these things and just found them around the house.  The cupid is a pin and the three strand pearl bracelet has a rhinestone clasp.

Silver Sunday

I am joining Beth today for Silver Sunday at her site Gypsy Fish Journal.  Please click on the link and go to check out all the great silver other bolggers are sharing.  I had to get outside and take some pictures.  It has been too pretty not to get outside and expand my backdrops.  Here is one of my favorite backdrops an old pile of bricks.

 Today I am sharing with you a silver sea shell.  I am really not sure if it is a sugar dish or a salt cellar.  I think it would be really large for a salt cellar, so I am leaning toward sugar dish.  It is about 5 inches square.  

 

It has a removable glass dish on the inside.  It is as pretty inside as outside.  The original sticker "Made In England," is still on the glass dish.  I would think it has never been used.  There are no markings of it's silver makeup, but it was tarnished and I got it to shine up, so it must be at least silver plated.

The little silver shell is begging for a garden tablescape.  It will be my pleasure to enjoy it soon in the garden.  Please go over to Beth's site Gypsy Fish Journal on the link above and view all the wonderful silver.

Silver Sunday

I am joining Beth at Gypsy Fish Journal  for Silver Sunday.   She is hosting this event until February 7th.  Please click on the link and see what other silver treasures participants have come up with.  I am sharing with you today a cake stand I got on Ebay.  It is very practical and very pretty for that special occasion.  

 

 

It has a silver base; as you can see, and a glass top that screws off for cleaning.

The detail on the base is lovely.  

My very favorite way to use it is as a riser when I am decorating tables.
