Tourist Tray Makeover

I got this tray at the thrift store.  Yes, it is ugly.  No offense if you are a fan of the "Singing Tower" in Florida.  I have not heard of it.  But this is just an ugly tourist tray.  It is made of a really heavy cardboard and the one handle was wrapped in some trim. The other handle had lost it's trim.  But, I know you're still asking what did she buy that for?  I had vision beyond all of it's homeliness.
First of all I spray painted it my new favorite spray paint color, oil rubbed bronze.  I have got to use that color again soon.  It looked great after applied.
Here, I have butterflies I have cut out from images I printed off of Vintage Printable.  In case you haven't heard of this website it is full of wonderful vintage images that are free to copy and use.   And, of course I Mod Podged them onto the tray.
I gave it two coats of Mod Podge and then I sprayed it with an acrylic sealer.  I next used some raffia to wrap the handles to finish it off.
This was the finished product.  You could reproduce this look with any tray.  And with the Vintage Printable website you could put sea shells, ferns, any botanical image, and the list just goes on.   They have a lot of great images.  This tray would be great to carry items to the backyard.  It is functional and looks a lot better than "The Singing Tower.":)
I will be linking this up to: Look What I Made at Creations by Kara.
