Today I am joining Becca at Blue Cricket Design to show you how to make ribbon roses. Please click on the link and go over to Becca's to see what other great projects bloggers are submitting. I wanted to show you a ribbon rose I made recently for Valentine's Day.
Here are the instructions for how to make a ribbon rose. The instructions are supplied by Save-on-Crafts.com. I have never made a ribbon rose, but I followed the instructions and added a step. As I wrapped and shaped the rose I took a needle and thread and sewed it in place on the knot at the base. Otherwise I couldn't make it hold it's shape. I have seen the roses on clothing, purses, and packages. They are a fun treat and a way to have roses in bloom all year long.
Next I wanted to show you some playing around I have been doing with my photo editing program. I use Corel Paint Shop Pro Ultimate Photo x2. It works great on Windows 7, my operating system. I purchased this photo editing software to put my blog's name on every photo. I haven't been disappointed it has worked well for all editing. Here are some features in the program I have been playing with.

This effect is called "Time Machine". It is a close up of this weeks tablescape. The program even puts the frame around it.
This effect is called "brushstroke." I love how the blue and white looks painted. Click on any of the pictures to enlarge and really see the details.
Here is the rose before.
Here is the rose after using "brushstroke" in the art and media effects.
Thanks for joining me today for some fun with ribbon and my camera. All these lovely flowers are a great way to decorate for Valentine's Day.
