Pink Love

I had been trying to mix hot pink and black all week and I just never found the combo that I wanted and then by accident, I laid some dishes aside and got a great combo of pink and black.  The dishes were stacked up to put away and I placed the little pink rose Limoges bread and butter on top of them.  I was surprised by the arrangement because the patterns worked.

My next pink is the cutest little hat Shannon over at Cozy Home Scenes made.  Thank
you Shannon!  I love it.:)  Shannon also has these cute hats for sale on her sidebar, check them out.
Happy Pink Saturday!
I will link to Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound, go and visit Beverly.

Burgeoning Chic of Pink

Image: davidaustinroses.com

If you lived in the UK you could get a David Austin rose bouquet delivered to your front door.  This is a newer shade called Kiera.  The shades of pink in this are perfection.

Or would you rather go with the "2011 Color of the Year."  Honeysuckle.

It is energizing.  I used it on a tablescape last summer.

I remember this color being preppy.

I remember this color somewhere else....oh yes, Elle.

Did the runways cause this stir in our living rooms?

I don't know, I think this color shouts tween to me.

So what does pink look like if it grows up?  Remember Meggie Cleary's "Ashes of Roses" dress from the Thorn Birds.

Or how about Natalie Portman's coat in the movie Black Swan?  Love this look... although she does look a little edgy.

Pink; for all of it's attention grabbing looks, will be a safe bet in flowers.

This looks pretty safe to me too.  Some pillows, a throw, and a coffee mug in the chic pink of the moment.  When your coffee mug breaks a new color will be in style.

Or my personal favorite pink; a little closer to Meggie's dress, makes a great pillow.  Available in my Etsy shop now.

Having a little fun with the fashion and the trends of interior design.  I will be joining Beverly for Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound.
Last week Beverly asked us to find one new blog and feature them on our blog this week.  I happened on Girl in Pink.

Amanda has a great blog where she shows off her found treasures for us to drool over.
Go and check her blog out and tell her I sent you.

Pink Tree

I had a plan to decorate a little tree with a pink color scheme.  I shopped the thrift store for all of my decorations and where I live there wasn't much pink.  So, I only have pink beads and an angel on this tree.  I sprayed the tree with snow to lighten it and I really like how that reflected the light.

So here my little girly tree is in the dining room with my pastel nativity and my pale pink poinsettia.  I always decorate for the men in the house with more manly colors, but this corner is just for me.

I will join Beverly for Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound.

I'll add my favorite Christmas song in.  It is "Breath of Heaven," sung by Amy Grant.

Baby Pink

Baby pinks are some of the most perfect pinks.  I went to a baby shower today and this was a little bouquet made out of baby socks.  Isn't that sweet.  I see a lot of really cute ideas at baby showers.

Here was a cute way to decorate as a backdrop for the table.  So many little onesies will soon be dirty but, being so cute who would mind.

I will join Beverly for Pink Saturday at her blog How Sweet the Sound, go and view all the wonderful pinks.

A Child's Book of Prayers

I have this little "Child's Book of Prayers" I wanted to share for Pink Saturday.

Here is the author and the illustrator is Masha.  Little is know about the illustrator, she/he is sort of a mystery but the illustrations are why this book appeals to me so.

The illustrations have these very unusual ethereal colors and the candles or the halos have a gilding on them that shimmer.
The colors are softer and faded but they remind me of the unusual colors you see during a beautiful sunset.
This illustration went with a prayer of thanks.
Father , We Thank Thee...
For this new morning with it's light,
Father, we thank Thee,
For rest and shelter of the night,
Father, we thank Thee,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything thy goodness sends,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee.
 ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I will join Beverly for Pink Saturday at her site How Sweet the Sound.

I will join Joni at Red Couch Recipes for the Thanksgiving Challenge.  I will put at the end of every post till Thanksgiving what I am thankful for.  I am thankful for the color pink.  It is my favorite color!  It is said to symbolize joy and happiness.  It makes me happy to look at it.  That is why I choose these pink roses for my button.

Tony's Town Square Restaurant

There is this wonderful little restaurant as you walk inside the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.  It is called Tony's Town Square Restaurant.  This is a view inside the main dining area.  But, that isn't my favorite place to eat.
Peak through the lace curtains into the conservatory area.  This is where you want to eat.
It may look hot with the glass roof catching all the Florida sunshine, but it isn't.  It is air conditioned and cold.
The secret to this restaurant is that you can usually walk right in (no reservation) at around 1:30-2 PM ET.  The reason you want to do that is this great view.

and this 5 year old has one of the best seats in the park to view it.

Let's go step out on the porch of Tony's and get a closer look.

Enjoying the magic is one of my favorite things because kids are only five once.
The parade is over and we are off.  Rounding the corner of Adventureland, I snapped this beautiful hanging basket for Pink Saturday.
