Olive Table

Image from Pottery Barn
Inspiration picture for this week's tablescape is from Pottery Barn's Olive Oil Tasting Party.  I love Pottery Barn's earthy style.  So when I caught a glimpse of this tablescape I got the idea to reproduce it.

Here I have laid out the table party-style like Pottery Barn did.

Instead of laying this table out like a party I just laid it out like a meal.  I love the idea of an olive oil tasting party but a meal would be what would be happening at my house instead.

The olive dishes are from Walmart made by Better Homes and Gardens.

The place mats were also Better Homes and Gardens but I found them on clearance at Big Lots for $1.50 a piece.

Goblets are Icon made for Macys.

I didn't use several types of olive oil to taste, but instead I tried using herbs to flavor some olive oil for our bread.  Recipe will be posted tomorrow.

Earlier this week I used these dishes in a tea post.  You can view that here.

So you can recreate the theme of the Pottery Barn table for an affordable price for your own home with the help of Better Homes and Gardens and Walmart.
The Better Homes and Gardens dishes were $34 for a 16 piece place setting and it included a coupon to redeem $6 back or to get a BH & G magazine subscription for 1 year.  That would make the dishes $28.
Pottery Barn dishes and linens:
Plates, appetizer: 4 for $40
Dipping bowls: 4 for $34
Olive place mats: 4 for  $42
I will link to these parties:
