Show and Tell Friday

I am joining Cindy over at My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday.  I have a set of vintage postcards that are very romantic.  With Valentine's Day fast approaching, I couldn't think of a better way to share them than to show them here at Show and Tell Friday.  I was a Shabby Chic girl in 1983; before I even knew what it was.  I collected many treasures romantic and cottage style.  This was one of my treasures.  It was a series of postcards I collected by Harrison Fisher.  They were entitled "The Greatest Moments of a Girls Life".

Harrison Fisher was a rival to famous Gibson Girl illustrator Charles Dana Gibson in the late Victorian and Early Edwardian Era.  The girls Fisher painted were  dubbed Fisher Girls.  It was the equivalent to our super models of today.  The girls that were idolized for their feminine beauty; had hourglass figures, little corseted  waists, and long graceful necks.  Here is a closer look at the postcards.

The first two postcards in the series are titled The Proposal, and The Trousseau.

The next two cards are called The Wedding, and The Honeymoon.

The last two postcards are titled The First Evening in Her Own Home, and Their New Love.
I thought I would show these to you, I have just always loved them.
Please  go over to My Romantic Home and check out all of the other things everyone has posted.  Thank you Cindy for hosting Show and Tell Friday.
