2nd Time Around Tuesday

I am joining Diane today at A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words for 2nd Time Around Tuesday.  Please click on the link and join in the fun of seeing what treasures everyone has come up with to share.
I took photographs this week for a spring table and I put a French Dutch Oven on the table because it matched my table colors so well.  I decided to show it at 2nd Time Around Tuesday because I have always thought it was so pretty, I just love the color.  I decided to do a little research on the internet to see what it was.  It seems this is a vintage Cousances Le Creuset Doufeu.  I had no idea!  It is a really nice piece of vintage cast iron enameled French cookware in the lovely robin's egg blue.  I got it at an antique store around 19 years ago and I have cooked chicken in it several times.  Although I did not know how to use it properly because I did not know what it was.  The Doufeu is French for gentle heat.  It was introduced by Le Creuset in 1934.  The proper way to cook with it is, to put ice on the lid and when it condenses it self-bastes the meat making it tender.

So, this week at 2nd Time Around I took another look at my own find and learned a lot about it.  I don't think I will cook with it again though.
