Longing for Spring

Are you longing for spring?  The robins have been hopping around the yard this week.  I thought I saw a new nest in a hedge outside our bedroom window.  The robins seem to be eager to get spring here too.

So soon...we will have those beautiful blue eggs again in that little nest the robin's always inhabit each spring.   Soon spring will be here...

Vintage Tins

I had been looking through old photos and I came across a photo of a vintage tin that didn't make it into another post.  I was looking at the tin thinking it was really photogenic.  So, I pulled them all down today and shot some pictures of them.  These were given to me by family.  The green tins are from England and the blue ones from Holland.  I have always just kept them above my kitchen cabinets but, they really are pretty in a photo.

And, now for those of us who could use some green!  Getting a little cabin fever here in February.

Oh....this is much better!!  Soon people soon...it will be green again!

My Favorite Thing About Fall

My favorite thing about fall are the colors in the trees.  Some of our trees have peaked and then others are still green.

Spring Textures

More spring flowers edited this time with Photoshop and textures.

This photo I had originally edited in Picasa and now I tried the image with a texture in Photoshop.

Here is the photo before the edit in Photoshop.  I like the photo both ways. What do you like?
Thanks for visiting me!

Springtime Blossoms

I took pictures of  blossoms in my yard this week and applied textures.  It really gave the pictures a vintage feel.

And, here the nest is edited with two different textures which gives you two different looks.

Transferware Mosaic

My mosaic is mostly plates and flowers.  We get spring fever in this house pretty much right after Christmas has been packed away.  So, all my photos lately have been getting more and more spring in them.  Some of the  plates are from two spring photo shoots I have been working on for Tablescape Thursday, so it is like a little sneak peak.:) (This was '09.)   Have a great Monday.  I hope the sun is shining, and have those of you living in the States noticed the days are getting longer.  Yea!

Mosaic Monday: Tea in Mosaic

I have been to a few tea parties lately and I wanted to group those photos into a mosaic.  It is a lot of fun having tea.  The vintage item would be the teapot with the yellow roses.  It was my grandmother's.
My youngest son is my constant companion and he is very pleased to play in the garden while I have "tea."
Here he is hard at work on a.. ahem..irrigation project.
Well he does manage to get the garden watered.

Mosaic Monday: Wildflowers

I couldn't help but notice along the sides of the road how many beautiful wildflowers I have been seeing.  It seemed ashamed to let their beauty go to waste.  So, my youngest and I went on a wildflower expedition drive, great for bored children in the summer.  I drove slowly through the country and he pointed out potential wildflowers for the camera.  He was very good at spotting them.  So, this was our scavenger hunt finds.  We enjoyed getting out of the house and I hope you enjoy the flowers.
Having some fun with the kids has always been on the top of my summer agenda.
I will join The Tablescaper for Summer Sundays.

Fresh Summer Food

Seems in the summer I cook a little more with the kids home.  I have been trying new and different recipes.  Everyone always gets bored with the same old stuff.  So, I have a lot of food pictures.  I decided to make them into a mosaic.

The one thing I really love about summer food is it is usually easy.  Fresh food is always one thing summer means to me.
I will link this to The Tablescaper's Summer Sundays.
