Easter Tea

I am re-posting a tea I used in 2011.  That is hard to believe that has been two years ago.

It didn't seem to be complete until I put an image of the real reason for Easter.  I don't know why it only seems we pull the bible out to read the Christmas story, the Easter story is just as compelling and worth a reread every year.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!

Lovin' Fall

I took a walk last week after a morning fog lifted and found several reasons I love fall.

Maple leaves...,

spiderwebs covered in dew...,

and mums full of color under a neighbor's mailbox.  What do you love about fall?

Pictures above have a single layer of scripted autumn or fall-in texture applied.

Nevermore

Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
"Though thy crest be shorn and shaven thou," I said, "art sure no craven,

Ghastly, grim, and ancient raven, wandering from the nightly shore.
Tell me what the lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore."
Quoth the raven, "Nevermore."
~Excerpt from The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe

I am really ready for Halloween.  I just like the imagination side of it all, nothing too scary.  I hope every one had a great weekend.  I got my house all clean and more sewn up for my Etsy shop.   What have you been up to?
Both photos have been altered with textures by Kim Kalssen.
First photo: used autumn script in a soft light 100%
Second photo: used autumn script in a soft light 83%

To "Do" Some Fall Decorating

I am trying to make some progress with fall decorating.  Here are some peaks at some of it.
Kim challenged us to use the verb "do" for today for Texture Tuesday.  Right away I knew I had to do some decorating.

The texture I used was scripted autumn by Kim Klassen.
I used:
linear burn at 60% for the crow
overlay at 100% for the candles
overlay at 80 % for the lantern

Classic Tea

I have a new teacup by Ralph Lauren.  I thought it was so classic it was needing to be photographed with some classic jewelry.   I will give this cup away as a gift.  It has such a pretty design on it.
The first picture was altered with the crackle texture with soft light at around 50-60%.   The crackle texture is by Kim Klassen.
Thanks for joining me for tea!

Home Alone

It's back to school time.  That means really soon I might be able to carve out two, full 5 hour segments of time per week to myself.  I love to get organized and get stuff done.  Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday challenge this week was to take a movie title to theme your post....Home Alone was my choice.  I gave my husband the idea and he actually came up with it.  He is great with word games.

I actually have coffee in this cup.  I will be sipping that while I am working.

What will you be doing if your kids are off to school?
The texture on the first picture and third picture is silence with linear burn at 55%.
Textures used were by Kim Klassen.

It's the Little Things

My favorite "little things" are the little ones.  The little things you do for them will last a lifetime.
Photo altered with textures by Kim Klassen.
First, I used silence with pinlight at 35% and then, luminous with linear burn at 65%.

Queen Anne's Lace

Queen Anne's Lace is thick along the side of the road right now.  It is so pretty when the sun is setting.  I have altered these photos today with the texture Aurora by Kim Klassen.

This photo didn't have a texture applied.

Isn't this a beautiful Mary.  It belongs to my SIL.  Each side of her face has a different expression due to the decay.
Thanks for coming by!

Sailor's Farewell

I have a new tea cup that belongs to set of dishes I found.  I was looking the dishes over at the thrift store really debating the purchase.  I noticed each piece had a different scene on it.  (I love transferware like that.)  Then I picked up this teacup and this cinched the deal.  This scene is called Sailor's Farewell.  How romantic and sweet is this?  The picture portrays a guy telling his sweetheart good bye before a voyage.

The other side of the cup is just as pretty, although I have no idea what this stuff is.

This is my Texture Tuesday picture.  Our challenge was something pink.   I have tried so hard to capture this effect and I think I am getting the hang of it.  Here is the recipe:  I put a layer of Sweet tart with linear light at 40%.  I created a layer mask and erased color from the rose at 20% opacity.  Then I put a new layer called Trust on multiply at 57%.  That's it.

The cup belongs to a pattern of English transferware called Fair Winds by Alfred Meakin.
Thanks for coming by my blog today!  I don't get to every comment each week but I read them and get to as many as I can and I thank you very much for taking the time to visit me and leave a comment.

Gardening Bliss

This little garden in my back yard is looking nice this time of year.    So, I took a few pictures of it.

I edited the photos with parvous or serendipity textures in a soft light at 100%.  The textures were by Kim Klassen.
I will join Kim Klassen today for Texture Tuesday.
If you are wanting to try textures sign up at Kim's and she will mail you a free texture every week.  Lots of great photography tips at her blog also.

Spring Textures

More spring flowers edited this time with Photoshop and textures.

This photo I had originally edited in Picasa and now I tried the image with a texture in Photoshop.

Here is the photo before the edit in Photoshop.  I like the photo both ways. What do you like?
Thanks for visiting me!
