Ghost Stories

It probably wouldn't surprise anyone that one of my favorite things are ghost stories.  We humankind have been fascinated with ghost stories for thousands of years.  They are written about, portrayed on screen, and told with skill of a tale worth telling.  Of course my favorite is the ones told with skill. I especially want to hear a great ghost story in the fall; something witnessed, something that has been spoke of for years, but especially never proven.  It leaves you kind of wondering if a place really is haunted...or not.

The picture above is a little country church in our county.  It seems harmless enough but, it is supposed to be haunted.  Of all of the places to be haunted I wouldn't suspect a church.  So I took a peak to see what was so scary.  Supposedly when you knock on the door sounds are heard within the church, sometimes choirs, footsteps, and strange lights.

On some nights it has been said funeral sessions can be seen at the church.  The one thing that helps fuel the tales is; that for a rural community with little to occupy teens, it becomes a trip of bravery to visit on a dark night.

We have one other spot in the county told to be haunted.  Everyone always wants to know where it is.  In the day it doesn't look so scary.

But, in the night all graveyards look pretty creepy.  You are supposed to see a green light go past your car and then a man with a green lantern walks by.  This story is so old people don't even recall who the man is.

Here under the full moon I am not seeing any green lights...

but, it may be just too light out.
